DOGTokyo2017 comes to see the Meguro Sakura in Musashi-Koyama. Sakura, cherry blossom is a cultural phenomenon in Japan and Japanese cherry blossom is famous all around the world. The Tokyo borough of Meguro has some absolutely beautiful walks in the cherry blossom season down by the river and along the avenues. As a central Tokyo borough, it is easy to get to and provides an authentic Japanese cultural experience for those visitors who like to explore with their own eyes and minds.

Akane Takayama took her DOG sculptures to Japan so that they could be field tested within the environment before the big DOGTokyo2017 installation in Ueno Park. Meguro Borough is one of the main supporters of this contemporary public art work and reflects the progressive nature of Meguro as a community.
